Haydn Denman has several decades of experience working in the television industry as a cameraman, on documentaries, wildlife, current affairs, promos, light entertainment and sport. More recently he has worked as cameraman/director on several documentary projects.
Haydn has worked as a lighting cameraman on many high profile, award-winning international productions and has won a BAFTA Cymru for best documentary and factual camera work on two occasions, 2000 and 2008. He was also nominated for a BAFTA Cymru in 2015 for best factual camera work and a film he worked on as cameraman/director was nominated for best single factual category in 2014.
He has extensive experience of working abroad, having travelled widely during his career, sometimes to remote and difficult areas including the Arctic Circle, high altitude conditions, remote tropical environments and high temperature desert regions.
Haydn has worked on many high profile, award-winning productions in recent years. Commissioners include national and regional BBC, National Geographic Television, S4C and S4C international. Many of these programmes have been international co productions between Welsh companies and other broadcasters worldwide.
Parallel with his film and television career, Haydn works as a documentary photographer. Over the years he has received numerous commissions along with British Council and Arts Council Awards to document communities and regions here in Wales, but also in other parts of the world such as Patagonia and the Arctic. The photographs have figured in numerous exhibitions and publications including Creative Camera and The Independent Magazine.
He has also received several awards for his photographic work.
